These are "trip pictures" so feel free to run for the hills. I found this Museum absolutely fascinating but not everyone is as geeky as me about pencils.
This was posted in a bar where we were eating dinner but it fits!
World's Largest Pencil
Yes, it is a yellow one.
A real "James Bond" pencil. Pretty cool.
Some people don't have enough to do............
Fantastic Beth and I live in UK!
ReplyDeleteThe hours said closed at 5 but when I got there at 4 they said it was too late to go into the museum. I BEGGED her to let me in and told her I had come from the US. She let me in , bless her and I practically had tears in my eyes. Such a corny geek!!. There was a lot more to the museum and it was so interesting. The term "Black Mail" came from a guy who bought all the graphite to coat canon ball molds and kind of held it for ransom, hence, black mail. I'll see if I can find the photo. SO interesting.
DeleteI inserted the photo at the end of the Friday post. It was "Black Market" not black mail.
DeleteThis is fabulous Beth! A dream for artists!
ReplyDeleteIt was one of the highlights of my trip!!
DeleteWow Wow Wow!! The pencil is a quiet technology, and yet it is such a delightful human invention! So glad you got to see it all!!!! Remember Tom Hanks in You've Got Mail? "If I knew where you'd live I'd bring you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils." (Back to school time = Pencils!
ReplyDeleteI think I have a lifetime supply of pencils for now!!
