I bought this pretty wooden box years ago for next to nothing at an outlet for high end decorative items in the Old Port (Portland, Maine). I have had it for over 15 years and I have always wanted to repaint it. I just painted it flat black. It had an OK white on black design but it was pretty boring. I'm not sure yet but I think it may involve crows and pine trees.

Love the shape! I have a friend who is a tole painter... I'm sure she would do fun things on it, but very traditional. Bet you come up with just the right thing to do with it!
