Pepper

This was my process for doing this pepper.


I took a photo of my pepper.


I made a sketch


I did a thin coat of pastel then wet it into a "paint" with alcohol on a bush as an underpainting.


A pear I did first

  2. Thanks Louis. Wouldn't that be lovely If I can find a good fixative I will try that. I used to use hairspray from the dollar store on charcoal but since using pastels I dare not. I do have Krylon on my shopping list.

  4. Oh, I remember using hair spray too, back in high school! Love your process. Amazing what alcohol will do to blend the colors. I love using it with permanent markers on chiffon...

  5. And I like the initial line drawing a lot!! Great volume using delightful, minimal lines...I used to use hairspary on pastels too..
