I have been putting off this challenge for weeks now but this morning I got to work on it.
Drew these on the fabric with pencil
Stitched with free motion
Marked the area to be background quilted.
Each row was one stitch apart
I did sign and date it.

I love it! Simple, yet lots of visual interest with the stitching and free space... clever girl! And congrats on your 9th blogiversery! I'm only a couple years ahead, but feel like you've been along for the ride most of my time blogging. Love that we have connected here!
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy. I agree about that connection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteCongratulations Beth, you have a wonderful blog, I wish you at least another nine years. And what a beautiful piece you made, I really love the simplicity of it, which gives it a rich look!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eke. Coming from you that is a wonderful compliment!!!!!
DeleteI love your blog and have gotten so much inspiration and great ideas from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Tina!! Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads it but I've gotten over that!!! I do love laying with fabric and surface design.
DeleteBelated congratulations on your 9th "Blog-aversary"! This little piece is a gem. I'm intrigued by the thread colour selections you made for the quilting.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret. I am actually planning on making another with bolder colors. On the spool they looked great but came out a bit wimpy.
DeleteCongratulations! Love the simplicity of your new work. What challenge was it that you had set for yourself?
ReplyDeleteIt was a challenge from DMTV.
DeleteFunny how a person needs to 'wait until they can wait no more' before tackling a challenge. Somehow the time has to feel right, doesn't it? Well done!
ReplyDeleteYes and when I get a sec I'm remaking this in darker threads. Stay tuned!!!
